This initiative is located 10km South-East of Phnom Penh where the government’s construction of new bridges is enabling the expansion of the city into an area where up until now a community of families have lived in a slum area.
Partnering with Raw Impact, Home for a Home is working on a project to relocate over 100 of these families onto their own land and into their own homes.
These homes are constructed entirely from bamboo with the active involvement and ‘sweat equity’ of family members. In addition to community housing this project is also seeking to address the vital issues of primary education, debt relief and vocational training.
